30 Day Challenge, GIMP & The GRE

Wow today has been busy!  I am dedicating today to getting a working ubuntu + gimp + wacom environment set up.  If you’ve been following the blog, you know that this is one of the things at the top of my todo list.  The system that I am using for this project was a bit untidy so I decided to do a clean install of Ubuntu Hardy 8.04.1.  This morning was spent reimaging the system.  Then I had to go and take my GRE test and was relieved that I scored well enough to get into the computer science programs at the schools I was interested in.  I don’t know if I’m going or not, but having the option is cool.  That was the only thing missing–taking the test.  Well let’s get back on topic.

I’m back and just fired up my project system and am getting ready to install the wacom tablet, test it with gimp, install and configure express keys, then configure my multi-monitor display.  I’ll post my results as soon I finish.  Hopefully the night won’t be too long.

Moving on, most people know that one of my interests is monetizing internet assets.  And while performing a search on google and reading articles, I came across something known as the 30 Day Challenge.  It’s basically about how to make your first $10 online in 30 Days.  That’s the goal of the experiment.  From what I understand from researching, it has been around since 2005 and was started by Ed Dale who seems to be pretty successful.  It’s free so I decided to try it.  Right now it’s in the pre-season, and the actual challenge begins on August 1, 2008.  The pre-season is all about getting your tools and evironment setup for the challenge.  If you are interested you can get more info and/or sign up here.  I think it’s going to be pretty cool or least worth trying!

That’s enough chatting, I’ve got to get back to gimp and the wacom tablet!
